When Gerry and Irene Loewen say that their facility is at the center of the Canadian Equine Industry they aren't kidding. Pine Ridge Equine Park is an Equine event and training facility, located just outside Winnipeg, Manitoba and it is actually right in the center of Canada. "We are just above the 49th Parallel which puts us half way between the North Pole and the Equator or 900 miles straight North of Oklahoma City" says Gerry.
The facility is a dream come true for Gerry and Irene who moved to Manitoba 20 years ago. "When we first started we had 10 acres and mares bred to Brenna's Kid, Tejohns's Peppy Doc and Gallo Del Cielo. In the fall of 2001, we found the perfect location for an equine centre. It was a quarter section of bare, beautiful pastureland". With five years of preparation, planning and research behind them, construction of the 140" x 240" arena began on June 3, 2002. Gerry's construction background was hugely beneficial as the arena, 2 barns and a hayshed went up simultaneously. By mid February, the trainer barn was full with a waiting list and the arena was busy. " We have some sort of show or event going on most weekends out of the year. We pride ourselves on hosting many different disciplines; world class reining one weekend, dressage or jumping the next"
"We have used Front Runner feeds for our training horses and boarders since we opened. Our breeding program, Sandpiper Stock Farms Ltd., is located right at the park and those horses are fed Front Runner too. I am so impressed with the feed from Feed-Rite I became a dealer and sell the products right from Pine Ridge Equine Park." Gerry and Irene invite everyone to come and visit any time.
